What is it about your work in real estate that inspires you?

I enjoy working with a real, tangible product that plays a crucial role both in the economy and in society. Real estate is more than just buildings – these structures shape our daily lives, providing space for living, working and socialising. It is particularly rewarding to see the direct impact of our work on specific projects and to recognise that our decisions contribute to the development of various locations and neighbourhoods.

Which topics / projects are you particularly interested in at the moment?

At present, much of my attention is focused on political and economic developments that affect the market environment. These include, for example, new practices in tenancy law, regulatory adjustments or the effects of interest rate trends. We need to address such changes with flexibility and strategic foresight in our daily work. The aim is to make investment decisions that serve the needs of today and tomorrow.

If you could choose any property to invest in, what would it be?

I would opt for a mixed-use property in a medium-sized Swiss town that combines residential, retail and hospitality, sports, office and healthcare space. Such all-in-one properties harness synergies between the various uses and spread risk. For me, a sustainable building and flexible use of space are particularly important when it comes to adapting to future developments. Places where people like to spend time and network present attractive long-term investment opportunities.

How does the Transaction Management team find suitable properties for the Avadis Investment Foundation’s real estate portfolios?

We manage different residential and commercial property portfolios and use a range of property search strategies depending on the investment objective. Our success hinges on a strong network: we work with external partners, review consolidation possibilities and exchange ideas with fellow industry professionals to identify opportunities. Selections are made on the basis of a set of clearly defined location, quality and return criteria. Rather than viewing each property in isolation, we consider them in the broader portfolio context. This 360-degree approach helps us identify properties that create long-term value for our investors.
